My name is Kiara and I am a veterinary technician here at Jefferson Animal Hospital. I completed my studies in Animal Science and Technology at Louisiana State University in the summer of 2013. I then continued my studies at Baton Rouge Community College where I completed the Veterinary Technology program in 2017. Growing up, there were always animals in my home; and very early on it was clear to my parents that I had a very strong love for animals. Through the years to adulthood the love and passion I have for animals and their well-being has only grown! Being able to be an advocate for them brings me such joy. I was born in Pensacola, Florida but I’ve lived most of my life here in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and call this place home. I am a mother of 2 very loving and charismatic children. One son who loves to be the center of attention with all of his comical dancing; he truly has a love for music, and one daughter who has the most tender heart and is in love with everything creative (much like her mother). I currently own two pets, Rollx and Kodak who are now the best of friends! On my spare time I serve as Executive Secretary for Beta Delta Tau Youth Sorority, Inc., mentoring high school girls and allowing them to experience what sisterhood is all about. I am also a free-hand artist and express myself through drawings, paintings and cake decorating. I am elated to be a part of a team that is so loving, and who carries the same gold standards that I do when it comes to caring for our furry family.
