Lexi at Baton Rouge Animal Clinic

Even as a very small child Lexi always knew she wanted a career that involved animals. She would often go to work with her mother, who was a Veterinary Assistant, as often as possible. In this small sweet practice, she acquired an even greater interest for the large and small animals, aspiring to learn more about medicine and animal behavior. After high school graduation she applied to Louisiana State University and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science and Technology in 2011.

While at LSU, Lexi secured a job working at Jefferson Animal Hospital in 2007. Having worked in every area of that practice and mastering each station she was honored to be promoted to Practice Manager in 2016.
Lexi currently enjoys her many furry friends! She has Briar, a German Shorthair, Buster a small mixed breed and Bane, a domestic longhair cat! She also rescued several pets that were in need of a loving home, Opal Fire, an appaloosa, Tuff a huge bob-tail and Hank a Spinone Italiano! Everyone needs a little Italian in their life ..right!

One of her favorite activities is being out side with all of her fur babies and watching all of their playful antics!

Kirstin at Baton Rouge Animal Clinic

Kirstin is the lead receptionist at Jefferson Animal Hospital.  When she isn’t assisting her clients and patients with their needs she is at home with her husband, toddler, and 2 dogs.  Together the 5 of them operate a small business out of their home called Beyond the Garage.  They focus on the manufacturing of whimsy and happy thoughts.  Through film production, art making, rabble rousing and puppet building they work hard to fill the hearts of Baton Rouge with foolishness and remind everyone that you don’t actually have to grow up.

Michelle and her husband live in Baton Rouge with their six pets; Izzy a Siamese mix, Tigger an orange tabby, Zoe a French Bulldog, Kobe a British Lab which is her husband's Diabetic Alert Dog (aka DAD for short), Tucker a Boxer, and Leonidas a Bengal.

She moved to Baton Rouge in 2006 to attend LSU, where she received her degree in Animal Science and Technology. She was hired at Jefferson Animal Hospital right after graduating from LSU in 2011. She is now kennel and surgery manager.

Michelle’s father was a veterinarian and animals have always been a constant in her life. She has owned a wide range of pets, everything from cats and dogs to emus and chameleons.  She has always enjoyed caring for animals. Her very fist job was working as a veterinary assistant with her father.  He introduced her to the field of veterinary care and taught her how important her job is in caring for the animals.

My husband, our two children, and I are proud to include 2 dogs, Katie and Elsa, 3 cats, Kitty, Newt, and Gus, 2 goldfish, and a bearded dragon named Aveeva to our family. Carley at Baton Rouge Animal Clinic

I was born and raised in Baton Rouge Louisiana with an animal loving mother and family. Growing up we had fish, birds, dogs, cats, horses and even reptiles. As I got in my late teens I developed a passion for reptiles. Which lead to me hatching one of my bearded dragons named "Gnal" whom is 6 years old. I have a 2 year old three legged bearded dragon which I adopted from a pet store and named him "Gaara."  And I also have a 3 year old lizard and he is called an Indonesian blue tongue skink and I named him "Finn."

I currently own two small dogs, "Ichigo" my 10 year old male chihuahua and my 12 year old female rescue Japanese chin named "Odette."

I love to paint and do arts & crafts, and to build terrariums. I have a passion for both animals and plants and was in the hobby of aquascaping for 2 years.

I have always loved animals. The companionship, unconditional love, and care that goes into owning a pet is what makes it special to me. I enjoy seeing our clients and their fur babies and building a relationship with them. It brings me joy when I am greeted with a hello and a wagging tail!

Naomi at Baton Rouge Animal Clinic

Growing up in a small town I was raised around animals; small, big, and giant. I attribute my love and passion for animals to that and to a story of when I was less than a year old, my parents had tried everything to get me to calm down and be the happy baby they were used to, but nothing worked until I was put in my swing directly behind 3 kittens playing, who captivated me completely and animals continue to captivate me 25 years later. Ever since I can remember, I knew I wanted to work with animals and so I went to LSU to study Animal Science, where I graduated in December 2015 with my Bachelor’s of Animal Science. Now I get to see and help these wonderful beings everyday. My favorite part of my job is being able to see a sick animal return home, happy and healthy! I currently live in Baton Rouge with my boyfriend and our 2 animals; Lucy, our 9 year old Lab/Collie Mix and Elmo, our 10 year old Main Coon Mix, who both get way more attention than they desire most of the time. In the spare time I am not with my animals, I enjoy reading, walking or picnicking in the park, and watching TV.

Alyssa at Baton Rouge Animal Clinic

Hi, my name is Alyssa. I am currently a junior at The Dunham School in Baton Rouge. I have worked at the Jefferson Animal Hospital officially for 2 years but I have volunteered in the kennels for quite some time. I plan on going to LSU to obtain my degree in Veterinarian Medicine. I have always loved to spend time with all types of animals and especially enjoy working in the kennels as an Animal Care Coordinator (A.C.C). I love to play with all of the dogs and cats and just to see their different personality types. I live with my Aunt and Uncle most of the time but sometimes stay with my sister and grandmother, and am in close contact with them since they live 10 minutes away. I have 7 animals in between the two house holds. With my Aunt and Uncle I have Gabi and Bernard, a female and male Schnauzer, and Raven a black lab. In my Grandmothers house I have Mocha, a female mutt who is brindle and very sweet. I have Brutus who is a male black mouth cur, and my two cats, Amadala Padame (Ami, for short), a female tabby, and Charlie the Charmander (Char, or Charlie for short) a grey and white cat. I love horses and plan on becoming a specialized equine vet once I get my D.V.M.

Animals have been a huge part of my life since a very young age. The running joke I make with my coworkers is that I "Speak dog" because of the niche I seem to have when dealing with all different canine personalities. I also enjoy when a dog comes in for grooming services and I get compliments on how great they look when they leave for the day! Another amazing thing about my job is the people I work with. Here at Jefferson Animal Hospital not only are the pets treated like family, but we treat each other like family!

Her pets: I have a cat named Te Fou. She was a CARA rescue kitten. After losing my 14 year old dog in early January (2017) I was very thankful to have Te Fou or Foudini as we call her. She has enhanced our lives so much and makes me thankful for the unconditional love that pets give!
